Tandoori pomfret is a tandoori preparation of pomfret in an Indian way. Originally cooked in the tandoor. The tandoori pomfret recipe is a spicy recipe. Pomfret fish marinated with spices and cooked in microwave or hot tandoor.
2 (400 g) pomfret fish, washed and cleaned
Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
Ginger 1 inch piece
Garlic 5-6 cloves
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
Melted butter 2 tablespoon
Salt as taste
Yogurt 3/4 cup
Make incisions on both sides and rub in salt and lemon juice. Keep aside for twenty minutes.
Grind ginger and garlic to a fine paste. Mix together the ginger-garlic paste, carom seeds, yogurt, egg, gram flour, turmeric powder and garam masala powder.
Rub the mixture all over the fish and leave to marinate for about one hour in the refrigerator for two hours.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/Gas Mark 4. Thread the fish onto skewers and cook in the preheated oven or in a moderately hot tandoor for about eight to ten minutes.
Baste with melted butter and cook for another three minutes. Serve hot with lemon wedges and salad.
