Paneer Taash Kabab Recipe

Paneer Taash Kabab is a type of dish that can be made in a short time and grilled quickly when you’re ready to eat. It also makes a great appetizer.  The paneer taash kabab can be placed in a roomali roti and served with chutney and onion rings as main course or even packed lunch.


Fresh Cream- 1 tablespoon

Cottage cheese (paneer) 400 gms

Onions 2 medium sized

Tomatoes cut into rings 2 medium

Mint chutney 8 tablespoons

Cheese 8 slices

Cheese,grated 1 cup

Peppercorns,crushed 1/2 teaspoon

1/3 cup hung curds

2 tsp chilli powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp cumin seeds powder

4 tsp ginger-garlic paste

1 tsp garam masala

2 tbsp oil

chaat masala to taste

Salt to taste


Preheat oven to 180° C. Cut the paneer into 2×2 inches slices. Peel, wash and slice onion into roundels.

Mix well all the marinade ingredients and spread evenly on the paneer slices. Set aside for ten minutes. Spread mint chutney evenly on the paneer slices.  Arrange onion and tomato slices on each paneer slice and cover with the cheese slice.

Mix cream and crushed black pepper and pour out over the top layer. Put the last cheese slice on top.

Bake at moderate temperature for 10 min. in oven.

Bake for 10 minutes until slices slightly turn into golden in color.

Remove out from the oven and sprinkle chat mashala on it and serve hot.
