Moong Dal Dosha

Moong Dal Dosa is a quick and healthy breakfast that can be made in a short time. Moong dal dosa made of split green gram and parboiled rice. You can staff with Potato Masala filling or you can eat with spicy chutney. Both are so nice taste.


1 cup moong dalmong dal dosha1
1 cup par-boiled rice
Green Chillies chopped – 2
Ginger chopped – ½ inch
Onion for garnishing (chopped)
Corionder leaves for garnishing (chopped)
Some butter
Salt to taste


Soak dal and rice in water for at least 3 hours. Grind the moong dal with ginger, salt, chilies and water as required. The batter must be smooth and the consistency should be similar to that of dosha batter. The batter should be of dropping consistency.

Heat dosa pan at medium high, Heat tawa till smoky hot, sprinkle little water, allow the water to evaporate. Pour a ladle full of the batter on the tava and spread it using a circular motion.

Spread little oil around the edges of dosha and allow it to fry on a low flame till the dosa is ready to flip to the other side. Sprinkle one cube size butter on it and spread all over dosha. Allow the dosha to fry on a low to medium flame to get crispy dosha.

Garnish with chopped onions, chopped chillies, chopped corionder leaves. Serve with coconut chutney or samber.
