Kele Ki Sabzi is a popular vrat recipe. Today is the first navaratra. Ladies take fast during navaratra. After evening we make different type of fast or brata recipes. This is one of them. It is very easy to make. This recipe is very famous Navratri recipe in north India.
2 to 3 tbsp – ghee or butter
1 tsp – mustard seeds
3 green Chillies
1/2 tsp red chili powder
3 tsp Kala Namak (Black Salt)
2 tsp Cumin seeds
8 to 10 – curry leaves
½ tsp Coriander leaves- chopped
1 tsp Turmeric powder
Pinch of hing (asafetida)
1/2 cup grated coconut
First Peel the bananas and cut them into small pieces. Soak them into water for about 30 minutes, and then wash it well. In a bowl of water, add 1 tsp of salt and put the banana pieces immediately in order to avoid discoloring.
Boil in water in high flame for 5 minutes or until cooked and not overcooked. Drain the water from cooked banana and let it stand for 2 minutes for all the water to escape.
Heat ghee in a heavy-based pan. Add hing. Fry cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chilies in the pan.
Add the banana pieces and mix well. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and black salt. Stir gently.
Add 1/2 cup water and cover the lid. it cook on a low flame till the bananas are done. Sprinkle chopped coriander and lemon juice and serve. Tasty kele ki sabzi is ready.
Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves on top. Enjoy this recipe with kootu ata ke pooris.
