Indonesian Satay With Indian Tadaka

Satay is a popular dish in Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Singapore. The secret of a delicious satay is in the marinade.

It is one of best street food of Indonesia. satay marinade with tenderize the meat and imbue it with fragrant flavors.


1/2 cup paneer (cottage cheese) cut in cubes

1/2 cup green, yellow and red capsicum cubes

1/2 cup onion cubes

1 tbsp oil

2 tablespoon red chili paste

1 cup coconut milk

2 tablespoon tamarind pulp

1 pinch turmeric powder

3 tablespoon brown sugar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoon lemon flakes

30 satay sticks


Wash the satay sticks in water, so they will not burn when you grill it.

In a large bowl, mix red chili paste, coconut milk, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, brown sugar, lemon juice, lemon flakes. Add cubed paneer, green, yellow and red capsicum and cubed onion. Mix it care fully.

Now arrange a piece of paneer, red capsicum, onion on a satay stick. Repeat for the remaining.

Heat the oil on a griddle and sauté the satay sticks. Turn it other side. Till the vegetables lightly brown.

You can grill it in microwave. Serve hot with peanut sauce.
