Hot and Sour Paneer With Vegetable Soup

Hot And Sour Paneer and Vegetable Soup is a sizzling and scrummy recipe. This is a soup from the Asian culinary which is spicy and sour in flavor. This soup does not take a lot of your time, and is great for people suffering from cold.

The use of pepper and ginger help in controlling appetite, and the taste is just too good for your tongue and will continue to linger in your mind even after you have finished the entire bowl. In these cold days you must like it.


1 1/2 cups  firm paneer (small cubes) cottage cheese

1/2 cup Celery (Finely Chopped)

1/2 cup spring onions, chopped

1/2 cup  sliced button mushrooms

1/2cup Red Capsicum (chopped)

1 tablespoon cream (optional)

2 cups Vegetable Stock

1/2 teaspoon paper

Soya sauce to taste

20 ml white vinegar

1 teaspoon Corn Flour

1 tsp Oil

1 egg


Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add the paneer and stir-fry for a few minutes. Remove and keep aside.

Combine together spring onions, vegetable stock, capsicum and mushroom in a sauce-pan.

Heat to boiling point then cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Or until vegetables are crisp-tender.

Add paneer and vinegar to the vegetables and bring to boiling point. Mix corn flour with a little water to make a smooth liquid paste.

Slowly pour in the corn flour paste to the boiling soup stirring constantly until the soup is slightly thickened.

Remove from heat. Beat the egg gradually pour the egg into the soup, stirring and swirling until the egg has just set.

Add soya sauce, paper and celery for taste and serve hot. You can add one tablespoon cream for garnishing.
